TrotTracker support

Help Center

Set up your first session, understand the live display and solve common GPS or synchronization issues.

Getting started

  1. Install TrotTracker G3 from the App Store or Google Play and open the app on your phone.
  2. Choose guest mode for local-only use, or sign in to synchronize saved sessions.
  3. Allow precise location access when prompted. GPS is required to calculate pace, speed, distance and route.
  4. Choose a horse, keep the phone in a position with a clear view of the sky, and press Start.
No pairing is required. TrotTracker uses the GPS inside your iPhone or Android phone and does not connect to designated training hardware.

During training

The live display shows pace, current speed, distance and lap information. Pace is continuously smoothed, so it reacts more calmly than a raw GPS reading.

Start, stop and reset

  • Start: begins an active GPS session.
  • Stop/Save: finishes the session and lets you save the result.
  • Reset/Save: resets the displayed session distance after you confirm the action.

Distance should continue through normal GPS updates. It starts over after a deliberate reset/save, when a new app session begins, or if the supported upper limit is reached.

Saving and synchronization

Guest mode keeps training data on the phone. When you are signed in, saved sessions can synchronize to your private account and become available in the web dashboard, analysis and route pages.

  • Keep the app open until saving has completed.
  • If the connection is weak, reconnect to Wi-Fi or mobile data and retry synchronization.
  • Log in with the same account on the website to find your saved history.

Improving GPS accuracy

  • Enable precise location for TrotTracker in your iPhone or Android location settings.
  • Place the phone where it has the clearest practical view of the sky.
  • Avoid covering the phone with dense metal structures or placing it deep inside the vehicle.
  • Wait briefly for the GPS signal to settle before starting fast work.
  • Low Power Mode, Battery Saver and poor satellite visibility can reduce update quality.

GPS is naturally less stable near tall buildings, steep terrain, dense tree cover or indoors. TrotTracker smooths the pace display, but it cannot remove every measurement error.

Account, privacy and deletion

You can use the live app as a guest. If you choose an account, synchronized sessions and routes are linked to that private account.
